Properties / Application
MEM insulating paint is a black, water-repellent, bitumen-based top coat. It is a protective coating for concrete surfaces and masonry in the area in contact with the ground as a seal against ground moisture.
mode of action
MEM insulating paint dries to a seamless, water-repellent, film-like coating. The coating does not become brittle and is resistant to naturally occurring aggressive substances
substrate and processing
MEM INSULATION dries to a seamless, water-repellent, film-like coating. The coating does not become brittle and is resistant to naturally occurring substances that are aggressive to concrete.
The substrate must be firm, stable, clean, largely level and free of cracks, nests of gravel, etc. and residues of oil, grease, dust or other separating layers.
The substrate may be slightly damp without a visible film. The treated surfaces must not be permanently wet, as then no thorough drying can take place.
Stir MEM INSULATION PAINT well before use. Highly absorbent substrates may need to be primed with MEM PRE-COAT.
After drying, MEM INSULATION PAINT is applied in 2 to 3 layers with a roller, brush or suitable spraying device, with each layer having to be completely dry before further processing.
In areas at risk of cracking, a reinforcement fabric, e.g. MEM PANZERVLIES, should be worked into the second layer.
Avoid direct sunlight during processing. Rain during processing or drying can cause damage (e.g. rinsing).
Before filling, the coating must be protected with suitable protective, drainage or insulating boards (avoid point or line loads).
